SPRING HILL, Minn. - Stearns County authorities say about 50 cows have been killed in a barn fire in Spring Hill Township.

Firefighters responded to the fire Friday about 2 a.m. and found the barn engulfed in flames.

Sheriff John Sanner says 20 to 25 cows escaped the barn unharmed. According to a St. Cloud Times report, the rest died, and the barn was a total loss.

Sanner said the total damage amount is still being determined but will likely exceed $100,000.
