Albert Lea Area Schools will shift to universal masking effective Monday, September 13th.

From the Albert Lea Area Schools Website:

Albert Lea Area Schools continues to be impacted by the high Covid-19 count in Freeborn County, which currently has the second-highest level of Covid per capita in Minnesota. This rate is affecting the operation of our schools.

As a result, Albert Lea Area Schools will shift to universal masking for all staff and students k-12 effective Monday, September 13th.

The district administration plans to bring a resolution to the school board on Monday, September 20th, regarding this issue. The resolution will provide a Covid data target for the district to remove the universal masking requirement.

The sooner our community comes together and reduces our Covid spread, the quicker we can get back to a less disruptive environment.
