Comments-It was a spectacular take for the tigers.  On a difficult course the team came through with seasons best times. The goal was to beat as many section teams as possible and we did this with the exception of Winona.  The team is running with a great deal of confidence and the team will only get better and stronger as the season moves forward.  We are starting our transition to speed and this will help the team continue to drop time.  Today we looked like racers rather than runners and this was a refreshing thing to see and the coaching staff are very happy with the ability of the team to accept the challenges that the meets have presented to the team and we have thrived on this stage.
Boys-Exceptional day for the varsity boys.  The boys dropped time and beat all the section teams except Winona.  The coaching staff was especially happy with how the tiger packed up together and finished strong.  We now need to move the pack up in the standing to compete for a section title.  Leading the way was Gavin Hanke  in 11th place with a time of 16:01, it was a great race for Gavin as he proved that against the top competition he is one of the best in southern Minnesota  Gavin was followed by Pacey Brekke in 34th at 16:59, his was the strongest race Pacey has run and the coaching staff was proud of his efforts.  Next was Ty Stout in 43rd place at 17:09, Luke Wangsness was next in 73rd at 17:54 and rounding out the top 5 was Andrew Tscholl in 80 at 18:01.  It was a great effort and the boys should be very proud of what they were able to accomplish.
Girls-the girls were incomplete as a team but did a great job of dropping time.  Jai Maligaya led the tiger with a great effort.  She took off during the 2nd half of the race to pace the lady tigers.  Jai was in 59th place with a time of 21:14, this was a minute drop form her best time of the season.  Next was Elle Schultz in 66th place at 21:27 and she was followed by Mya Hanke 92nd place 22:34.  All the girls all dropped time and they continued to improve.  The girls are looking forward to adding the jr. high girls later this season to have a complete team effort.
