Albert Lea Falls to Mankato East in Section Baseball Opener

The Mankato East bats helped the Cougars jump out to a 10-1 lead after 3 innings on way to a 10-4 win over Albert Lea in the first round of the Section 2AAA Tournament. The 3rd seeded Cougars scored 4 in the first, and 5 in the 2nd to go up 9-1.  6th seeded Tigers scored single runs in the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th.  Albert Lea 4 runs off of 5 hits and 1 error.  East with 10 runs off of 10 hits and 4 errors.  Tiger offense was led by Andrew Westeng who went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored.  Tigers fall to 9-9 on the season, as will face either Marshall or Jordan in an elimination game at 2pm on Saturday in New Ulm.  All the action on KATE.
