This past weekend (Dec 3-4) Albert Lea Area wrestling wrestled in the Dan Gable Donnybrook in Iowa City, IA. The tournament featured 32 teams, 13 of which were ranked in the national top 100 teams and there were combined over 175 state ranked individual wrestlers in the tournament. Most brackets had between 12-16 state qualifiers. It was one of the toughest high school wrestling tournaments in the midwest.

Albert Lea finished 13th overall as a team. Albert Lea had 4 wrestlers reach the podium.

AL will next wrestle Thursday at John Marshall to kick off our conference dual season. They will follow that up with Saturday at an individual tournament in Maple Grove.
