Harrison Koetz hired as New Head Coach of the Albert Lea Boy’s Basketball team

Albert Lea High School is proud to announce the hiring of Harrison Koetz  for our head boys basketball coaching position pending board  approval.  

Harrison has a Bachelors Degree in K-12 Physical Education  and Health Education, with a certificate in coaching from  Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota.  

During this past year Harrison was an assistant in the Albert  Lea basketball program, as well as a junior high football and  assistant boys golf coach. Harrison was an assistant coach at  Central Cass High School prior to his move to Albert Lea.  

Coach Koetz is originally from Leonard, ND.  

He was hired with Albert Lea Schools the 2020-21 school year  as a Physical Education teacher at Halverson Elementary will  continue in that role next school year.  

The interview committee was thoroughly impressed with  Harrison’s passion for basketball, professionalism, and his  vision for the program. Harrison coaches to have a positive  impact on student athletes, both on and off the court.  

Harrison is going to be an excellent addition and will help our  basketball program to continue to improve.
