Legislative Session In Minnesota Ends With Climate Action

In response to the end of the 2023 Minnesota Legislative Session and Gov. Tim Walz signing a climate-focused transportation funding bill today, Evergreen Action Midwest Senior Policy and Advocacy Manager Courtney Bourgoin released the following statement:

“This year, Gov. Tim Walz and the Minnesota Legislature delivered a monumental session that resulted in nation-leading climate policies. From new climate investments and one of the most ambitious 100% clean energy bills in the country, to the transportation funding and reform bill signed today that aims to reduce emissions from car travel and invest in a holistic public transportation system there is no mistaking that Minnesota is walking the talk. In addition to providing an example of meaningful climate action for states across the country, they have also centered equity at the ground-floor of their policies and the infrastructure investments that will emerge from them. Congratulations to the governor and lawmakers, as well as the tireless advocates across the state, on a truly historic session.”
