NRHEG’s Sidney Schultz hits 1000 point Milestone in Win against USC, and the rest of Fridays Basketball scores

In Girls Basketball

Albert Lea picked up their first win of the season on Friday with a 62-56 win over Red Wing.  Tigers trailed by 6 at halftime, but went on a 13-2 to start the 2nd half, and never trailed the rest of the way.

 

Albert Lea was led by:

Kendall Kenis 18 points (5-3 pointers)

Annika Veldman 13 points, 3 assists, 8 rebounds

Taya Jeffrey 13 points, 2 assists, 6 rebounds

Tigers now are 1-0 in the Big Nine, and 1-1 overall.  Head Coach RJ Polley picks up his first win as the Tigers HC

Tigers are 1-1 1-0 in the Big Nine and will travel to Mayo Tuesday

 

New Richland-H-E-G 83, United South Central 14

Panthers were led by Sophie Stork with 21, Sydney Schultz with 20, and Faith Nelson with 18.  Schultz hit the 1000 point milestone for her career in the win 

USC was led by Hannah Meyer with 5

Panthers are 2-0 and will be at Blooming Prairie tomorrow, Rebels are 0-1 and will be at JWP tomorrow

Alden Conger/Glenville Emmons now 0-2, and will host Truman Martin Luther GHEC on Thursday

Lake Mills 41

Bulldogs rallied from a 10 points deficit and took the lead 41-40 with 16 second left, but LM would commit a foul, Belmond Klemme would hit the 2 frees throws and win by 1

Leon Moen with 14 points, Taylor Vanek with 11

Bulldogs fall to 1-2 and will travel to Bishop Garrigan on Tuesday

Vikings fall to 2-1, they were led by Carly Hengesteg with 13, Madalyn Hanson with 10
