Tiger Boys Cross Country takes 16th at State

Star runner-Gavin Hanke 34th place
Team place 16th
Comments from Co Head Coach Jim Haney-The coaching staff is incredibly proud of the boys cross country team.  The team has made so many strides this season and has rewritten history in regards to cross country in Albert Lea.  The team will take away a lifetime experience using the experience they got during the week of the state meet to help fuel another run at state next year.  The team will be losing valuable senior experience but we will be having many runners back from the state team to compete for another chance at state next year.
Leading the way was Gavin Hanke in 34th place, Gavin has been the leader all season and he went out and had a determined performance for 34th place.  Gavin was followed by Isaiah McGaffey in 100th place, Pacey Brekke 1349th place, Luke Wangsness in 141st place and rounding out the scoring 5 was Henrik Lange in 145th place.
The boys are determined to get back to state next year and we will use the track season, summer training and weights to help reach that goal of returning to state
