Tigers falls 10-1 to East in Big Nine Conference Baseball

The Albert Lea Tigers fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-1 loss to Mankato East  on Monday.  Mankato East scored on a double by Dylan Kopesky and a sacrifice fly by Jacob Eggert in the first inning.

Albert Lea struggled to contain the high-powered offense of  the Cougars, giving up ten runs.

East got things moving in the first inning.  Kopesky doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

East scored three runs in the seventh inning.  The big inning  came thanks to a sacrifice fly by Logan Swalve and a groundout by Kyle Bridger.

Riston Wojcik led to victory on the pitcher’s mound. Wojcik allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out four.  Carson Graves and Cael Willaert entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Jacob Skinness took the loss for Albert Lea.  Skinness allowed six hits and seven runs over six innings, striking out two and walking one.

Henry Eggum went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Albert Lea in hits

Cougars scattered seven hits in the game.  Eggert and Kopesky each racked up multiple hits for Mankato East.  Eggert led the way with three hits in three at bats.
