Twins postpone Home Opener to Friday due to bad weather in forecast

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins are pushing back Thursday’s Home Opener at Target Field due to chilly temps and snow in the forecast. That game against the Astros will now be played at 3:10 p-m on Friday, when sunny skies and a high near 50 degrees are expected. Twins spokesman Matt Hodson says, “That’s why we have our built in Friday off-day… If need be, due to either the forecast of precipitation or cold ,we have that built-in option to go back one day if that’s what’s gonna be in the best interest for everybody.” Hodson says all of the other season-opening festivities are also moved to Friday beginning with “Breakfast on the Plaza.” Last season’s home opener against Seattle was also postponed due to rain and snow.
