Albert Lea competes in a quad at the Northfield Golf Club at 1:30
The Albert Lea Boys Golf team was in in Northfield on Thursday for a four team event with the Owatonna Huskies, Rochester Mayo Spartans and the host Northfield Raiders.
The Tigers came into the match in sole possession of first place in the Big 9.
The home team Northfield took care of business and won with a score of 303. Mayo came in second with 309 and the Tigers were third with 322. Owatonna finished in fourth with a score of 363.

There is now a three-way tie in the Big 9 between the Tigers, Spartans and Raiders.

Alden-Conger Knights participated in an 18-hole Rebel Invitational match at the Cedar River Golf Course in Adams. This was the boy’s second 18-hole event this week. The knights finished 2nd with a total score of 382, finishing behind Lanesboro’s team total of 357. Southland finished 3rd with a 390, Glenville-Emmons 4th place 438, and LeRoy-Ostrander 5th place 441. Tyler Erickson finished tied for 6th, Parker Hintz placed tied for 8th, Ryan Hintz finished 10th, Mayson Grunzke, and Ryker Erickson both tied for 14th, and Brayden Garcia placed 21st individually. Despite the hot, humid, and very windy today, the boys battled back and forth against Lanesboro for the lead. In the end, the knights made some mistakes and were unable to keep pace with Lanesboro. The knights are back in action again on Friday 5/13 at Oak View Golf Course near Alden, against the St. Clair Cyclones.

The USC Rebel boys’ golf team participated in a Gopher Conference meet on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Kenyon Country Club, near New Richland, on a hot, windy spring day.
Senior Luke Pederson a 39 to lead the way for the Rebels, followed closely by sophomore Kadyn Neubauer’s 40. The rest of the Rebel golfers were packed together just a few strokes back—Carter Hart’s 43, Brennan Anderson’s 44, Blake Bullerman’s 45 and Levi Hinkley’s 47.
